choosing rigid cardboard to cover your furniture

Sometimes, you need to store your furniture when you do not have the original packaging supplies. You need to pack them securely on one side, and on the other side, you want to pack them cheap.

Using used cardboard boxes might be the best choice as you can find them free. We also use this used cardboard when our clients want to pack and ship their furniture overseas. Also, as cardboard is rigid, it can keep the furniture intact. So, here are the steps how you pack for storing furniture without original packaging supplies

Unfold the rigid cardboard box

Unfold the cardboard box and put it on the floor as you see in the picture, and put the furniture on the edge of the cardboard.  At this point, make sure that there is no staple on the cardboard to scratch the furniture. Now, shrink wrap the furniture to tape the cardboard to shrink-wrap, not to the furniture.

You can cover the item with cardboard and tape it to furniture that is already wrapped. On the corners, you might need to cut the cardboard to cover the furniture easier.

After you cover the furniture with cardboard and tape the cardboard to wrapped furniture, you might need to shrink wrap the whole thing again.
